Our Lodge meeting is in two parts, first as in any club or association we need to discuss minutes of our last meeting, balloting for new members, financial matters, charity, news and correspondence. Then follows a range of ceremonies we perform, based on the building of King Solomon’s temple, for admitting new members and promoting other masons. These are full of drama, allegory and symbolism which convey to you the principles and teachings of Masonry.
Once a year we hold elections for new Officers and the installation of those Officers takes place every January.
Like any organisation you only get out of Freemasonry what you are prepared to put in. After every one of our Lodge meetings, you have the opportunity to have a drink and join us in our dining room for a meal together, which gives us all time to socialise and organise other social events throughout the year.
We are often joined by members of other nearby Lodges, who are our guests for the evening. Members of our Lodge also have the opportunity to visits other ones, to watch how they perform their own rituals and of course dine with them afterwards. By socialising in this way, you can make new and lasting friendships with so many people through your shared interests in freemasonry.
We also hold Ladies nights and other similar social events when our families and other non masons are welcome to attend.
Your membership of Freemasonry should never interfere with your own faith, family or occupation.
