I became a Freemason in 2013 after being asked by a couple of friends who thought I might be interested. Having little understanding of what Freemasonry actually was, I took the opportunity to attend a couple of Andrew Marvell Lodge social events where I found everybody to be very friendly and informative.
On joining the Lodge, I was made to feel very welcome and part of it from the beginning. Despite being a very busy person as both a Building Surveyor and family man, I thoroughly enjoy being an active member of the Lodge. Whilst I am a relatively new Mason, I have had a busy few years taking on various roles to the point where I currently hold a senior office within the Lodge. At times, it has been hard work and sometimes a little daunting, but I constantly receive help and support from not only members of my own Lodge, but also from members of several other local Lodges which means a great deal to me.
I find Freemasonry very rewarding, and have made many new friends, long may it continue!
